Dr.
Vincent Elvin Eebee, a senior lecturer in Rivers state polytechnic, now
Ken-Saro Wiwa Polytechnic in Bori, has been shot dead by suspected assassins,
Breaking Times reports.
According to the report, Dr. Eebee was shot dead
alongside a 21-year-old first year female student of Mass Communication
Department of the polytechnic, identified as Miss Priye, in his car. It was
learnt that they were both trailed by the gunmen on their way from Eebee’s
office to Port Harcourt.
Miss Priye was said to be with Dr. Eebee in his car on their way from Bori to Port Harcourt. A source revealed that the lecturer was shot several times by the gunmen.
Until his death, Eebee was a chieftain of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) in Yeghe community, in Gokana local government area of the
state. His death comes just hours after the Rivers state police command
declared ex-militant, Solomon Ndigbara wanted.
Ndigbara hails from the same home town with the Eebee Eebee on the March 11, wrote a petition to the APC about the antecedents of Solomon Ndigbara, which he copied the Nigerian Army, the Police and other security agencies.
He had
consistently accused Ndigbara of committing heinous crimes in Yeghe community
and some believe his death may not be unconnected to this reason.
